Dolphins at Emerald Bay
Independence Day
Boats, friends, ocean, food, relaxation, laughter, total beauty.
Freedom was represented by a school of literally 100 or more dolphins following our boat as we left Emerald Bay in Southern California. They flipped, jumped and played with the boat for 15 or 20 minutes. It was absolutely incredible!
I fell in love with their curiosity, natural playfulness and inquisitiveness. They seemed so intrigued by us, and the faster we went, the more they played in our wake. It was like playing with children! The more noise you make, the harder they play.
My camera can barely contain this guy
I look down and don't realize what I'm seeing at first
Dolphins at my feet.
After we tired them out, we found our way back to the harbor. S. slowed the engines, and we let the sun kiss our skin, warming off the sea spray and winds of out-running dolphins.
It was a perfect day with beautiful, generous friends.
