Work has taken me to the fabled fly-over states. Read: certain states in America that have been sort of left behind in the cultural, architectural, and culinary revolution.

Well, actually, I'll be in Kansas on Wednesday...so I need to come up with a better line.
It's the kind of place where housekeepers leave Made in the USA candies on your bedside table, and say God Bless You without the fear of being sued eight ways till Sunday.
And where tornadoes are very real, very scary, and apparently worth a detailed written evacuation plan in the hotel room info book. Where's the basement?! I need an exit plan! Ok, breathe.... They have sirens for this kind of thing, right???
