Families Are Forever

I am grateful for my family every day. I am grateful for prayer....  Today, I am praying and thinking of you daddy. Feel better. Be well. Know that we love you.

"Sickness comes on horseback but departs on foot."  ~Dutch Proverb

"If you have health, you probably will be happy, and if you have health and happiness, you have all the wealth you need, even if it is not all you want."  ~Elbert Hubbard

"You don't choose your family.  They are God's gift to you, as you are to them."  ~Desmond Tutu

"An ounce of blood is worth more than a pound of friendship."  ~Spanish Proverb

"To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right." -Confucius

"Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family:
Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one." - Jane Howard

"Families are like fudge - mostly sweet with a few nuts."
Just kidding daddy. I like your karate kid ninja moves.

"Family life is full of major and minor crises -- the ups and downs of health, success and failure in career, marriage, and divorce -- and all kinds of characters. It is tied to places and events and histories. With all of these felt details, life etches itself into memory and personality. It's difficult to imagine anything more nourishing to the soul." - Thomas Moore

We have a mutual friend, Melinda. She mentioned your dad is ill on her blog. I just wanted to tell you that if the Drs. haven't already looked into it, they should screen your dad for Lyme disease. A year and a half ago, My dad flew from Paris to Utah and upon arrival, woke up with "stroke-like symptoms": half of his face was drooping and numb; he had piercing pain in his head. They thought it was a stroke and he was in the hospital in Utah for awhile, and it wasn't until he was stable enough to fly back home to VA and see a doctor there that they finally diagnosed him with Lyme disease and began treating him with antibiotics, etc. It's been a really long process back to recovery, but if that's what your dad has, I hope they can identify it and start treating him. Good luck!
