Caution: Inspiration While Working
What should we provide to the world?
That will make a significant positive difference?
That is not readily available today?
That may require a radically different approach?
That we may be in a better position than others to offer?
That we can be passionate about?
That we can be rewarded for?
This PowerPoint slide was part of our afternoon big picture vision/strategy meeting.
We were urged to ask these questions every day. They need to be asked before we can determine our own definition of success. What are we meant to do? What are we best at? The President of Thunderbird School of Global Management wants to ensure we stay true to those answers. Not only as an organization, but as individuals. Be your most authentic self, and you will have an impact on others.
The question of success is one where you ask what impact you will have on the world. (Impact equaling quality and scale).
When you want to decide a path, a vision, a strategy for yourself, you must ask yourself these questions.
Ask yourself how you'll stay true to what makes you unique. Do not be like the "other guys". This will not have an impact on anyone.
Do what you were meant to do, and you will not only be happy, you will make an impact.
What greater joy??
Dr. Cabrera also showed this incredible video....it's 10 minutes long, but it's interesting to see this visual approach to where the world's wealth is distributed, global population growth, what is important to these different societies, and where he projects we're going in the next 50 years.
