Come Dance With Me in Port-au-Prince!

Steve and his dad were able to visit Davina's dance studio. I'll never forget reading her application for the 10,000 Women program. We asked why she had started a dance school, and her answer was "I want Haitians to start enjoying leisure again. After the earthquake, we forgot how to have fun.

I was blown away by her honesty and personal commitment to giving back to her community.

While at Thunderbird, she volunteered to dance at the 10,000 Women graduation, and she was amazing. It was a hot June day, and dancing on the black stage outside gave her poor feet blisters, but you would haven't know it. She danced passionately, and till the end of the song! She is a true professional!

Playing a glass bottle, drums, and maracas!

Steve and Tom both said how beautiful the dancers moved! They felt so honored that they took the time to put on a show for them. I wish I could have been there! Thank you Davina and dance school family!

Amy, this looks like such a beautiful show. All of the smiles are contagious!
I love the philosophy behind the dance school. I think this is something that a lot of aid agencies overlook. Especially when there has been a disaster. People need more than just the basics, they need to get their lives back, and leisure is such an important aspect of life.
